Veinte Años!

Spanky
1995 - 2003
“One moment can change a day, one day can change a life and one life can change the world.”
– Buddha
A few years ago I heard cover of Neil Young's
Heart Of Gold.
It was a version by Passenger.
The video was an emotional viewing for me.
I did find my "Heart of Gold".
Twenty years ago, today, we bade "adios" to Spanky.
It was a day filled with her favourite things...
restaurant patio time and finally eating that tuna sandwich...
pizza at the ballpark...
and a walk on the beach .
September 5, 2003 was not to be the end of her story...

"Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle,
and the life of that candle will not be shortened"

.... on December 14, 2003 that first candle was lit.
The Spanky Project was born with the goal of..
"Helping Cubans help their animals"
“Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it.”
... she gave me that purpose!

Que 20 años atrás
Con qué tristeza miramos
Un amor que se nos va
Es un pedazo del alma
Que se arranca sin piedad

That 20 years ago
With what sadness we look
A love that is leaving us
It's a piece of the soul
That is mercilessly torn away

December 14 will be our 20th Anniversary.
May Spanky's legacy carry on ... well beyond my years.

Join us in this beautiful work.

Feliz Día del Trabajador de la Veterinaria

March 24 is Veterinary Worker's Day in Cuba.
Greetings, congratulations and best wishes to the over 12,000 doctors and technicians in Cuba.
Let's include all clerks,  janitors, graduates, economists, .... EVERYONE

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Cuba currently has five faculties of Veterinary Medicine and 14 schools of middle-level studies, in which more than seven thousand specialists dedicated to the care and protection of animal health have graduated.
We have come to know and work with many of them.

We thank them all for their hard work, love and dedication.
We are now in our 20th year of helping Cubans help their animals.
We look forward to our first post pandemic campaña and reuniting with all our Veterinary friends.

2003-2023 and beyond.
Spanky Project celebrates 20 años

¡Felicidades!
